Consulting

Facilities Managers are responsible for operating a single building or a group of buildings in a campus environment in a way that meets the functional needs of the tenants while minimizing the operational costs of the facility. In today's environment, with the current trend toward maximizing sustainability, the idea is to build and operate facilities that are "green" while being functional. The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) has established the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification program for neighborhoods, buildings, and interiors aimed at improving performance across all the metrics that matter most: energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, indoor air quality and stewardship of resources. LEED certification has now been mandated by most federal government agencies as well as by many state, county and municipal governments. SSA assists clients in understanding how to collect, store, and analyze data in an effort to reduce operational cost while encouraging environmental sustainability.

Our LEED-AP staff can assist in the design of information systems that promote sustainability while working toward new certification or recertification. Our FMIS technology combines database technology with graphics and operational characteristic collection, analysis and display. Whether you are interested in simply establishing a Building Information Model (BIM) for your facility, monitoring operational data, or utilizing space management, equipment/furniture management functionality, SSA can assist in identifying the most appropriate technologies and integrating them into a FMIS that meets your specific needs.
